App simplifies consumer enquiries of chemicals in electronic equipment
Among other things, the REACH regulation on chemical substances states that consumers have the right to know which “substances of very high concern” individual products contain. To find this out, they can make an enquiry with the distributors of electrical and electronic equipment. Until now, this has been complicated to do. The “Scan4Chem” app offered by the German Federal Environmental Agency now simplifies such enquiries.
