Transition period for CE marking in Great Britain extended
In the United Kingdom, the UKCA marking has applied to the placing on the market of electrical products since 1 January 2021.
The transition period for existing CE markings has been extended until 1 January 2023. This means that all product areas, with the exception of medical devices, have one year more to change to UKCA (United Kingdom Conformity Assessed) marking.
The UKCA mark can already be used now and the UK government is encouraging companies to use it as soon as possible as it will become mandatory for placing goods on the market in England, Scotland and Wales from 1 January 2023.
