Beware: Federal Environmental Agency is currently issuing systematic warnings
At the moment, the Federal Environmental Agency is sending out large number of pre-hearing questionnaires which may result in fines being imposed. The reason for this is that some companies are not complying with their duty to report volumes as required by the ElektroG. The duty to report under the ElektroG includes the reporting of annual statistics, which must take place every year.
This is the first time that the Federal Environmental Agency is issuing warnings to manufacturers and distributors of electrical and electronic equipment on such a large scale. It suggests that the Federal Environmental Agency and stiftung ear have automated their procedures and are now able to issue warnings systematically. Companies should therefore be careful and always meet their obligations to report volumes as required by the ElektroG.
