The European Commission, in its Implementing Decision 2020/659 of 15 May 2020, has specified that the harmonised standard EN 50581:2012 will be replaced by the new standard EN IEC 63000:2018 as of 18 November 2021. The new standard covers the Technical Documentation for the Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) assessment of electrical and electronic equipment.
The RoHS Directive 2011/65/EU regulates the use of certain hazardous substances in all electrical and electronic equipment. It is binding for all EU member states. This entails an update of the EU Declaration of Conformity for manufacturers and distributors of these products.
