WEEE Directive: New Europe-wide standardized registration format
As reported last June, the European Commission - in cooperation with the European WEEE Registers Network (EWRN) - has planned a consolidation of the European national registers for electrical and electronic equipment in order to standardize registration and reporting for companies.
Since 1st January 2020 a new standardized, Europe-wide registration format for electronic and electrical products and for the monthly reporting of products sold in Germany has been in effect.
Standardized Registration
The new registration form only applies to registration applications made after 1 January 2020. Older registrations remain in the old Format.
Formal declaration for monthly reports
This year monthly reports have also been aligned with European standards: starting this year, a formal declaration must be submitted to Stiftung EAR with each monthly report. In order to meet this requirement, you simply have to check the appropriate box at the EAR portal.
Note to our customers: We have changed our monthly reporting procedures accordingly and have emailed you this information separately. We assume responsibility for your formal declaration on the EAR portal. You are not required to do anything extra.
